Orion Says Alliance Advances Recording of E-Documents

By Brad Finkelstein

SOUTHLAKE, TX -- Executives at Orion Financial Group, a lien release, assignment and document retrieval services firm headquartered here, said its alliance with ACS Inc. advances electronic document recording nationwide.

ACS has developed the Electronic Recordation Exchange, or eRX, which is an Internet-based service that connects organizations who record documents with counties to facilitate electronic recording of land records.

Orion has done over 4,000 e-recorded documents to date in 2005, up from 3,300 documents e-recorded in 2004.

"As the mortgage industry moves towards handling all its documents electronically, Orion will remain at the forefront of this shift with innovative solutions in document services," noted Mike Wileman, president of Orion Financial Group.

"Our proprietary assignment and lien release system, DocPro!, has been enhanced to seamlessly facilitate e-recording. This allows our clients to have assignments and/or lien releases recorded via paper or electronically, depending on the county, with the same superior level of quality and integrity. The combination of leading-edge technology and superior customer service is why we have the lowest rejection rate in the industry."

As more counties move towards e-recording, the biggest benefit is that turnaround times can be reduced from 100 days down to one hour.

The company added that DocPro! is designed to generate paper and electronic recording information from the same system, which is uncommon for the industry.

"We are very pleased to have formed an alliance with such a respected company like ACS, that has remained strong for more than two years, and we will continue to pursue relationships that drive the document services industry forward," said Mr. Wileman.
