Recruiting & Training:
Renaissance Professionals
Motor City's Learning
DETROIT -- Arlington Mortgage Group here has created Arlington Mortgage
University, a free three-week program designed to train participants to become certified mortgage originators in
an effort to counteract the record local unemployment rates seen here this summer. The company plans to provide
$1.3 million in training to more than 200 qualified Detroit residents through its jobs initiative over the next
12 months.
"Unfortunately, the city of Detroit has one of the highest unemployment rates
in the United States," said Arlington Mortgage Group chairman Steve Monaghan. "It is imperative that
small business play a vital role in the continued renaissance of Detroit. Arlington Mortgage University represents
our commitment to helping the city create a more stable workforce."
In addition to the creation of the free training program, Mr. Monaghan has also
committed to opening seven Arlington Mortgage branch offices throughout Detroit that will be staffed with loan
officers trained at Arlington Mortgage University.
Beginning this fall, training will be conducted on a quarterly basis at Arlington
Mortgage Group's headquarters. Each session of Arlington Mortgage University will host approximately 40 students.
According to AMG, Qualified applicants must possess a minimum of two years of
college credit, and five years of sales training/experience.
Applications are being accepted via e-mail only at amu@arlmtg.com.
