LOS Integrates Flood Certification Providers

By James Comtois

James ComtoisCalyx Software, a provider of loan marketing, originating and processing software for the mortgage industry, is now offering a flood certification category in its network, connecting Point loan origination software users with participating flood certification vendors.

"We are always working to improve the Calyx Network with additional categories and service providers," said Keith Kemph, national sales manager, interfaces. "Our flood category provides Calyx Point users with another user-friendly feature and function that helps them streamline the origination process and close loans more efficiently."

The category in Calyx Point currently includes seven companies specializing in flood certification reports: Loveland, Colo.-based Factual Data; Sacramento, Calif.-based First American; Columbus, Ohio-based CBCInnovis; Tucson, Ariz.-based First Magnus Lender Services; Arlington, Texas-based FIS Flood Services; Atlanta-based LandAmerica Lender Services; and Plano, Texas-based LandSafe.

According to Calyx Software, a loan officer can order reports directly from the flood certification category under the services menu through Point and automatically incorporate the borrower data from the loan file into the flood certification request screen, thus eliminating the need for re-keying information.

The only information entered by the loan officer is the specific flood requirements. Once the loan officer is ready to submit the loan file, the flood certification report is automatically included.

This enhancement to Calyx Point's offerings is one of many that the San Jose, Calif.-based LOS provider has made in the past several months. Earlier this year, Title Source Inc., one of the nation's largest independent title agencies, integrated into Point to make it faster and easier for mortgage professionals to submit orders to the title and settlement services company. Also in January, 12 mortgage service providers were added to the Calyx Network. Back in September 2007, Calyx integrated automated valuation module providers into Point.
