Calyx Software Releases Point and Point Data Server Versions 5.3

By James Comtois

James ComtoisCalyx Software, San Jose, Calif.-based loan origination software provider has launched updated versions of its LOS by releasing Point 5.3 and Point Data Server 5.3. The new versions offer enhanced scheduling features, updated forms and free recalculation of fees, plus better flood certification ordering capabilities.

Point 5.3 has new features, updated forms and enhancements enabling faster loan origination. Point Data Server 5.3, which is compatible with the latest version of Point, enables file sharing with added shared Cardex contact manager, print groups and templates.

With the newest version of Point, brokers can order and receive flood certificates through a direct connection from a drop-down list. The complete flood certificate is rapidly generated, transmitted back and stored with the loan file in Point so any time the file is moved, copied or deleted, the certificate goes with it. Additionally, Point 5.3 offers a new task reminder and revamped conversion log.

When ordering a credit report on Point 5.3, the Range of Scores field on the Credit Score Disclosure form populates automatically. The following items have been added to the Credit Request screen: payment by credit car and requested by (for credit agencies that wish to include it); borrower and co-borrower former address, city, state and ZIP fields; and instead of displaying "Response file could not be read" when an error occurs, Point now displays a specific message with possible causes and suggested solutions.

Other features on Point 5.3 include free recalculation of fees on the loan application and good faith estimate when the loan amount, sales price or appraised value is changed; updated forms and screens and the ability to enter up to 200 liabilities and 200 REO properties on the loan application form.

New features on Point Data Server 5.3 include: a centralized template management and distribution that ensures loan officers always having the latest templates (including Loan Program, Closing Cost Scenario, Master File, Data Import, Data Export and Escrow and Title tables); Cardex databases that can be centralized and shared; updated PDS configuration wizard including NTFS permissions tool; unique PDS reports; and the ability to import users from a text file.

Calyx began shipping Point and Point Data Server 5.3 on June 15. All current Point subscribers are expected to receive their update before the end of the month.
