Mortgage Broker Sponsors Contest to Promote Environmentally-friendly Program

By Brad Finkelstein

CHARLOTTE, NC-1st Metropolitan Mortgage here, in a promotion for its recently introduced BrightGreen Mortgage program, is sponsoring a coloring contest for children ages three to 10. The theme is "A good environment makes a good home."

There will be 12 winners nationwide who will receive a $500 government savings bond and be included in a 2009 BrightGreen Mortgage calendar.

The BrightGreen Mortgage program has multiple facets besides the coloring contest, such as planting trees and eco-friendly business practices. The goal is to better accomplish the mission of the BrightGreen Mortgage, which is to provide consumers personalized service and a variety of loan products with great rates while acting in a more socially responsible manner. Best business practices of the program include paper elimination, recycling and the use of recycled materials whenever possible.

"It is never too early to learn of the importance of preserving and protecting the environment," said Daniel H. Jacobs, chief executive of 1st Metropolitan. "There are so many ways to have a positive effect on the environment and we wanted to see through the creativity of young people, what they are thinking about the environment and promote green thinking among the youth of our nation."

Entry forms for the contest can be downloaded at http://www.brightgreenmortgage.com.
