Consumer Advocate Launches Online School to Educate Homeowners
By James Comtois
As we have seen in the industry, there are serious consequences for failing to educate potential homebuyers about the repercussions associated with their mortgage. Millions of homeowners are about to lose their homes because they were not properly educated.
In order to help protect homeowners from various forms of fraud and corruption, consumer advocate Harj Gill is launching a free online school. The school, called "Know Your Rights: Real Estate, Mortgage Awareness & Protection," is an extension of his workshops of the same name that are being held throughout the country as part of his grassroots educational campaign.
Enrollees of the online school can expect the curriculum to be just as captivating and powerful as the live workshops. A small sample of subjects to be covered include mortgage types, predatory lending, improving credit score, avoiding junk mortgage fees, avoiding being victimized by high mortgage and real estate commissions.
The curriculum will be packaged in digestible chunks and delivered three times a week over a 16-week period directly to the student's desktop. Instructors will answer questions on the website as well as through live "webinars" and tele-seminars that will be held once a month. The curriculum will keep expanding based on what homeowners want to learn.
"The Know Your Rights course is a complete A to Z of homeownership," said Mr. Gill. "There is absolutely no excuse for you to be victimized anymore because if you don't make the time to know your rights, you deserve to not have any."
The online school is provided as a free community service to every consumer and industry professional. Those interested in enrolling should visit www.mortgagefreeusa.com.
