GE Enters Into Agreements to Finance Home Improvements

By Brad Finkelstein

GE Consumer Finance's Retail Sales Finance unit has entered into a multiyear agreement to provide consumer financing to customers of USA Home Remodeling, an online facilitator of home improvement services.

USA Home Remodeling customers will have their choice of either the revolving credit ProjectLine product or the installment ProjectLoan program.

"USA Home Remodeling has created a unique platform that provides consumers a one-stop source for planning and completing home improvements," said Bruce Christensen, vice president of GE Consumer Finance's Home Improvement division. "Providing consumer financing is an integral part of that process and we're pleased that they have chosen GE as their financing provider."

USA Home Remodeling through its website (www.usahomeremodeling.com) offers homeowners the opportunity to contract for remodeling services with pre-screened contractors in a variety of home improvement fields. The company has enrolled more than 50 contractors, offering such services as sunrooms, additions, window and siding installation, roofing, fencing, new home construction, pool installation and decking.

Separately, GE Consumer Finance's Retail Sales Finance unit has entered into an agreement with Owens Corning, which makes building products such as insulation, roofing, siding and manufactured stone veneer, among others.

The roofing contractors in Owens Corning's preferred contractor program can now offer their homeowner customers financing.

"Our system minimizes paperwork for fast credit decisions," Mr. Christensen said. "Applications can be submitted seven days a week with most approvals given within minutes. This streamlined approach enables Owens Corning preferred contractors to concentrate on the sale, exceeding the customer's expectations and ensuring they have a great experience."

The Owens Corning program includes a revolving line of credit and installment loan options, fast funding, no downpayments and no closing fees, all of which make the homeowner's choice to pursue home improvement projects much easier. Second-tier financing is also available.

Finally, GE Consumer Finance's Retail Sales Finance unit entered into a new multiyear partnership with Classic Metal Roofing Systems to provide its customers with installment and revolving financing options.

"A home is often the single biggest investment someone makes. Being able to offer our customers flexible financing enables more families to afford our roofing products and enjoy the maintenance free, safety and long-term savings of a durable roofing system," says Todd E. Miller, president of Classic Metal Roofing Systems.
