ECP Receives Award

By Amilda Dymi

Affordable housing developers are making an effort to add environmentally friendly features to their projects.

Northeast Energy Efficiency Partners has recognized Enterprise Community Partners for its leadership in creating energy-efficient housing developments in the area. ECP, formerly known as the Enterprise Foundation, received the Leadership in Solutions for Low Income and Affordable Housing award at NEEP's 2006 Northeast Energy Efficient Summit.

It honors "significant strides in creating sound solutions that advance sustainable development in low-income communities throughout the Northeast." ECP was recognized for Trolley Square, a mixed-use development scheduled to open this summer. It will consist of 40 affordable homes, 2,700 square feet of community/commercial space, and a landscaped plaza above underground parking.
