New Version of Software Includes Image Storage
By Jennifer Harmon
Pipeline Solutions here, which offers a complete line of loan origination software
for mortgage lending, recently released an updated version of its Mortgage Banker Series, Version 5.50. This release
includes an option to utilize a high-performance, client/server rational database management system and document
image storage. "We have been listening carefully to the needs of the current marketplace, an affordable origination
platform that flows from soup to nuts. The Mortgage Banker Series is refreshing news to the small to midsized banker
looking for a comprehensive origination platform at a reasonable investment," said Gordon Scott, Pipeline
chief executive officer. "With the updated release of our Mortgage Banker Series we offer a sensible solution
that flows seamlessly from point-of-sale through closing in one piece of software."
The Banker Series offers enhanced security features and a unique 32-bit server
platform providing .NET drive support, ODMC and OLE DB drivers for SQL access to the entire Pipeline database.
The series also includes document management, warehouse line tracking and commitment fulfillment capabilities.
"The Banker Series clearly exemplifies our commitment to the hundreds of small to midsized mortgage bankers
currently in the market for a cost-effective origination platform," added Mr. Scott.
Wasting time and money with separate point-of-sale, processing and closing systems
can be a maintenance and support nightmare. The Pipeline Mortgage Banker flows seamlessly from point-of-sale through
closing in "one" application. The addition of this client-server technology provides your company scalability,
security and data integrity. "By continuing to enhance the Mortgage Banker Series, Pipeline has met an important
goal of offering one-stop shopping for business process integration from point-of-sale through closing, all on
one system and completely seamless," said Andy Ross, Pipeline's senior vice president of development. "The
small to midsized banker requires the competitive efficiencies gained by seamless flow of data from point-of-sale
through closing on a single platform," said Mr. Scott. "We stand ready to assist those originators currently
struggling with multiplatform inefficiencies and pre-Y2K technology in meeting their retooling challenges head-on
with cost-effective technology for loan origination."
After more than 12 years servicing the mortgage industry, Pipeline Solutions'
customer base has increased nationally and continues to grow. In the coming years, the company believes the Internet
will provide new opportunities for expansion and products that will help mortgage originators serve their clients
better and more efficiently than ever before.
Pipeline began in March 1987 to perform various consulting and contract programming
jobs for mortgage bankers and brokers in the Sacramento, Calif., area. After surveying the market for "packaged"
loan origination systems and finding the need for a low-cost, high-value LOS to support the growing mortgage broker
market, Pipeline Solutions switched its focus to software development. By the end of 1989, the company was marketing
five mortgage productivity software products, Loan Analysis, Loan Disclosure, Loan Processing, Loan Closing and
Loan Tracking. Each product addressed a particular "stage" in the mortgage pipeline.
In 1994, some of the products were consolidated to address job function rather
than a stage in the mortgage pipeline.
The company offers the Pipeline Loan Officer, a low-cost point-of-sale solution;
Pipeline Loan Processor, a mortgage broker-based solution, which includes all the features of Loan Officer plus
processing, tracking, and reporting; and Pipeline Loan Closer, which is a closing document preparation system for
Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac and VA loan programs.
Pipeline Solutions supports over 5,000 users nationwide, which include mortgage
bankers, credit unions, banks and savings institutions.
