AI Ready Forms Made Available By A La Mode
By Brad Finkelstein
OKLAHOMA CITY -- Appraisal software vendor a la mode here is the only vendor to
have every AI Ready-compliant form available for use by appraisers.
AI (short for Appraisal Institute) Ready is an accreditation given to forms software
packages by the appraiser trade group. The designation means the forms comply with the Appraisal Institute's residential
data storage and transmission standard.
The AI Ready forms are required for appraisers to do business with the AI Residential
Database and AppraisalPort.
While other companies have most to nearly all of the AI Ready forms available,
a la mode remains the only company to have the entire package, said Matt Barr of a la mode.
Over 50% of the nation's appraisers use a la mode's WinTOTAL software. It has
a 2.5 "compliance level" with the AI Ready standard, which is the highest attainable.
Even though a small percentage of appraisers are currently using the AI Ready
standard, Mr. Barr noted there are different ways for appraisers to do business and his company wants to make sure
they have a way to cover all of those bases. All 43 AI Ready forms are available in WinTOTAL. It is usually the
lender ordering the appraisal that requests the AI Ready format to be used.
Mike Unser, product line manager with a la mode, said, "WinTOTAL users can
import the AI Ready order form information directly into the software. We have a dedicated forms team that maps
our forms to AI Ready, as well as creating forms in the AI Ready specification that may not have already been in
WinTOTAL.
"And when a new form is added to WinTOTAL, appraisers get it instantly with
our Instant Customer Update feature."
Another feature made available in a la mode's AI Ready export warns the user if
a signature has been forgotten. It also prompts the user to fill in any fields that AI Ready requires, but that
are not available on standard appraisal forms.
Besides WinTOTAL, which is the latest version of a la mode's original product,
a program to fill out appraisal forms, the 18-year old company operates Mercury Network. Over 15 million electronic
appraisals have been delivered through the Mercury Network servers over the past 12 months.
